The Solar Potential Map for the Bavarian Untermain region is now available online, providing a valuable tool for residents in the area to assess the potential for solar energy use in their homes. This key component for a sustainable energy supply was first created in 2014 as a joint project of the cities Aschaffenburg, Alzenau, Hösbach, Kleinostheim, and the districts of Aschaffenburg and Miltenberg.

The project, financed by the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, has been updated with new geodata and is now technically and content-wise up-to-date. The programming and implementation of the updated Solar Potential Map was carried out by the company Tetraeder.solar.

The Solar Potential Map provides calculations for potential power yields, CO2 savings, and cost-effectiveness. It also offers information about the suitability of roofs for photovoltaic or solar thermal systems. Homeowners can check the potential, possible power yields, CO2 savings, and cost-effectiveness of their roofs using the Solar Potential Map.

The map serves as a solid basis for starting consultations or obtaining offers from qualified specialist companies. In addition, the map includes an integrated craftsman search feature. For those seeking specialist companies, the Energy Agency Bavarian Untermain supports the targeted search with its new online platform www.heimvorteil.de.

Not only can regional guild specialist companies be found on this platform, but also neutral and individual consulting offers of the consumer service Bavaria and their regional climate protection managers. The solar power plant for the climate-neutral city library was planned with the Solar Potential Map, showcasing its practical application in the community.

The Solar Potential Map for the Bavarian Untermain region is based on high-resolution laser scan data provided by the Bavarian Surveying Administration in early 2025. Access the Solar Potential Map for free via the website: www.solare-stadt.de/bayerischer-untermain. Embrace sustainable energy and take advantage of this valuable tool today!
