The AMO Cultural House, a central landmark and cultural hub in Magdeburg, is set to be showcased as a potential location at the Immobilienforum Magdeburg on September 4 and 5. This iconic building, which has been a part of the city's landscape since its opening in 1952, is in need of renovation and is seeking fresh, innovative ideas for its future.

Experts from the real estate and construction industry have been invited to evaluate the proposals for the future planning of the AMO Cultural Center in Magdeburg. The focus is on concepts that go beyond classic event formats, encompassing cultural and creative projects, education and meeting spaces, and new forms of public and exchange.

Opportunities for new, contemporary uses are opening up for the AMO Cultural House. However, not every idea can be implemented. All ideas, though, contribute to developing a sustainable overall concept for the future of the AMO.

The city has launched a citizen participation process for the future of the AMO Cultural House, running until September 30. Submissions for future use of the AMO can be made online at www.magdeburg.de/amo. All information and access to the participation dialogue can be found on the same website.

In the fall, submitted ideas will be evaluated and documented from economic, technical, and urban planning aspects. Economic considerations are desired, particularly statements on how the future usage concept should be economically sustainable.

The goal is to make the AMO an attractive place again, providing impulses for the city. As a listed building, the AMO Cultural House holds significant historical value, and it is hoped that its renovation will preserve this while making it a vibrant and relevant part of modern Magdeburg.

For any questions about the AMO Cultural House, you can contact the Economic Department of the state capital at 0391/540 2666 or by email at [email protected]. Let's work together to shape the future of this cultural icon in our city.
