Orient Express Sailing Yacht's Chief Executive participating in the company's sea-bound expedition
The Orient Express Corinthian, set to launch in June 2026, is poised to redefine ocean travel with its luxurious offering and unique features. This vessel will join the Ritz-Carlton's fleet of boats, with Four Seasons and Aman's yachts following suit in 2027 and 2027 respectively.
Built at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in France, the Orient Express Corinthian is a testament to the rich heritage of the Orient Express brand, which has its roots in ocean travel. Founder Georges Nagelmackers, who sailed on transatlantic liners, brought the sleeper cars and luxury-grade service he experienced on these liners to trains.
The Orient Express Corinthian will offer a sophisticated service culture, similar to yachting, with a focus on personalized service and continuity with other Orient Express offerings. Guests can expect a more all-inclusive offering compared to traditional yachting, with experiences like the privatization of villas and special dinners on the beach included in the price.
The vessel will feature a range of amenities, including five restaurants and dining rooms, with a 17-Michelin starred chef, Yannick Elleno, signing the menu. For entertainment, there will be a cabaret, cinema, spa, recording studio, two pools, and 8 bars, including an Art Deco-inspired speakeasy.
One of the Orient Express Corinthian's unique features is its hybrid propulsion system that includes sails, allowing it to cruise at 17 knots under proper wind conditions. The vessel will also have dedicated terminals for embarking and disembarking passengers, with approximately 60% of the time spent anchored outside ports.
The Orient Express Corinthian will cater to families with a playroom and programming, but will only have dedicated weeks for families. Small elements like a button that calls for the butler, reminiscent of transatlantic liners, will be found in the cabins. The vessel will accommodate a maximum of 110 guests in 54 suites, with suites that can be combined on deck seven to accommodate families.
The Orient Express Corinthian's design and aesthetic will continue the legacy of the glamorous 60s-style interiors seen on the Dolce Vita Orient Express, with the architect and artistic director, Maxim d'Angeac, focusing on a more Art Deco style for the 21st century.
The Orient Express Corinthian will offer unique experiences such as private dinners at the Palais Bulles in Cannes, the Roman theater in Taormina, and the rooftop of the Guggenheim Museum. The vessel's recording studio onboard is of high quality and can potentially host private events like recording an album.
As the Orient Express Corinthian embarks on its maiden voyage through the French and Italian rivieras in June 2026, it promises to deliver an unparalleled luxury experience on the high seas.
