Other Summer Transfer Deadlines: Players seeking new clubs can join leagues following the end of the Premier League transfer window

With the football season fast approaching, the transfer window is heating up as clubs scramble to secure deals before the deadlines. Here's a rundown of the key dates for some of Europe's top leagues:

Enzo Fernandez's move from Benfica to Chelsea was finalised in a last-minute deal in 2023, but other players have less time to make their moves. The transfer window for multiple big leagues across Europe, including the Premier League, closes on Monday, 1st of September at 7pm BST. However, some leagues have different deadlines.

The Turkish Super Lig's transfer period remains active until Thursday, 11th of September. The Saudi Pro League's window closes a day earlier, on Wednesday, 10th of September. The Russian league and the Greek league close their windows on the 10th and 29th of September, respectively.

The EFL, Bundesliga, Serie A, and Ligue 1 all close their windows on 1st September at 7pm. It's worth noting that Spain's La Liga has a slightly later closing time of 11.59pm local time (10.59pm BST). The usual deadline of 11 pm has been removed for this transfer window.

There was a brief window of activity before the FIFA Club World Cup, which took place between June 1 and June 10. After this, the focus has returned to the domestic leagues.

One factor that could influence transfer activity is the upcoming World Cup, which is now less than a year away and will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. With the tournament approaching, players' hopes of making their national teams could be diminishing due to the transfer window.

It's not yet clear if any other leagues' windows will stay open beyond the 1st of September. As always, the transfer market is full of surprises, and fans can expect plenty of activity in the coming days.

One thing is certain: deals can still be announced after the transfer deadline if a deal sheet has been submitted ahead of the deadline. So, even after the window closes, the transfer saga may not be over just yet.
