Overcoming the impediment in delivering rapid charging speeds versus grid constraints: ZOOZ Power provides a potential solution

ZOOZ Power Accelerates Ultra-Fast EV Charging Solutions

As electric vehicle (EV) adoption continues to rise, the demand for ultra-fast charging is increasing, potentially exceeding the capacity of current grid transmission and distribution systems in many areas. To address this challenge, ZOOZ Power, a manufacturer of power boosters, is facilitating and enabling high-power DC charging, especially in regions where there are power issues within the grid.

The ZOOZTER-100, ZOOZ Power's flagship product, is designed to solve the "bottleneck" between the growing charging needs and the limited capacity of the grid. This innovative system can supply 100 kilowatts continuously for a period of 15 minutes, allowing for approximately 166 cars to be charged per day. It is based on flywheel technology, allowing for cost-effective and efficient upgrades to existing infrastructure in line with energy demands.

The ZOOZTER-100 can support between two and five chargers in parallel and stores energy during periods of inactivity, returning it to the grid. This system ensures there are no limitations or restrictions due to grid power issues, making it an optimal solution for countries facing these restrictions.

ZOOZ Power is looking at Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Eastern Europe for expansion. The company has already installed its technology at three sites in Israel and four sites in Germany, and a fifth site will open in Germany soon. ZOOZ Power has also launched its first unit in the United Kingdom.

The company is working with a major charge point operator in the UK and expects to announce a site in the United States soon. Each ZOOZTER-100 can have up to 200,000 cycles over a lifespan of 15 years, reducing the need for frequent replacements.

Notably, site usage increased by more than 60% after installing a ZOOZTER-100, demonstrating its effectiveness in meeting the growing demand for ultra-fast charging. ZOOZ Power's target markets are small and medium-sized charging hubs, whether for public charging or fleet depots, with two to ten DC chargers of 150 kilowatts or more, and grid supply of between 100 and 500 kilowatts.

By providing an immediate power requirement and relocating the unit elsewhere when grid improvements arrive, ZOOZ Power can help resolve issues in the short, medium, and long term. This energy freedom offered by the ZOOZTER-100 system makes it an ideal choice for charge point operators, developers, or implementers looking to meet the increasing demand for ultra-fast EV charging.
