In an unexpected turn of events, a package delivered to Hannover's Südstadt district caused quite a stir on Monday afternoon. The package, containing an unknown powder, led to breathing and circulatory issues for a courier and two responding police officers.

The incident was swiftly reported by the Fire Department Hannover, prompting a large-scale emergency response. Twenty-one firefighters and emergency services personnel, along with ten vehicles, were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, the fire department command escalated the alarm and requested specialized hazardous material response teams and vehicles from Fire Station 3. Wearing chemical protection suits, the response teams transported the package outside and conducted several substance tests. Despite several tests, the exact substance could not be determined.

The affected police officers and the courier were promptly transported to local hospitals for further treatment. In the meantime, the package was stored in a specialized container and handed over to the police for further examination in their own laboratories.
