Clement Delepine, the current director of Art Basel Paris, has been appointed as the next director of Lafayette Anticipations, a nonprofit foundation associated with the iconic department store Galeries Lafayette. Delepine will begin his new role on November 17.

Before leading Art Basel Paris, Delepine worked as a director in New York's Bortolami Gallery and at the Swiss Institute, also in New York. He also led Paris Internationale, an independent art fair, from 2016 to 2021.

Art Basel Paris made headlines in 2018 when it launched after nabbing the October dates at the Grand Palais from longtime French fair, FIAC. The name of the fair was initially "Paris+, par Art Basel", but has since been changed.

Under Delepine's leadership, Art Basel Paris has been focused on working towards a stellar edition next month, which opens to VIPs on October 22. The organization's efforts have been successful, as Art Basel Paris has become known for its ambitious exhibition program, spotlighting a high-profile roster of international artists.

Lafayette Anticipations, on the other hand, has also built a reputation for its ambitious exhibition program, showcasing a roster of international artists. The organization operates out of a 19th-century industrial building in Le Marais, which opened in 2018 after a renovation by Rem Koolhaas and OMA.

Delepine has expressed admiration for Rebecca Lamarche-Vadel's vision at Lafayette Anticipations and has stated his intention to further affirm Lafayette Anticipations' unique positioning on the French and international art scene. Lamarche-Vadel, the previous director of Lafayette Anticipations, has chosen to embark on a new personal and professional challenge.

Delepine has also expressed gratitude to Noah Horowitz, Vincenzo de Bellis, and the teams at Art Basel for their trust and support during his tenure at Art Basel Paris. The search for a new director at Art Basel Paris is currently underway.

With Delepine's extensive experience in the art world and his proven track record of success, Lafayette Anticipations is poised for continued growth and success under his leadership.
