Dubai's Parking Operator Expands Portfolio

Dubai's largest public parking operator, Parkin, is set to manage over 29,000 more parking spaces following a tie-up with Dubai Holding. This expansion forms part of efforts to ease congestion and improve urban mobility across the city.

Parkin's Chief Executive, Mohamed Abdullah Al Ali, has announced that the company aims to build four multi-storey car parks over the next two years as part of its expansion plan. The new facilities will adopt a unified design to reinforce Parkin's identity and clearly signal their function as public parking structures.

The expansion of Parkin's portfolio has already begun, with the introduction of new paid parking areas in Al Jaddaf and the re-opening of a renovated multi-storey car park in Dubai's Al Rigga district, adding 440 spaces.

During the second quarter of this year, the city saw an increase of 11,700 parking slots in Parkin's portfolio. Zone C recorded the largest jump of 7,800 additional spaces, while Zone D, which includes open-lot parking, added 3,800 slots. Multi-storey car parks held steady at 3,200 spaces during the same period.

On-street and developer-linked private zones contributed significantly to the 6% growth in Parkin's portfolio, which now stands at nearly 211,500 parking spaces, an increase of approximately 6% from 200,400 a year earlier.

The new parking facilities are set to open by the end of 2025, when Parkin plans to have approximately 3,000 new parking spaces added to its portfolio. This will further solidify Parkin's position as Dubai's leading public parking operator.
