In the heart of Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, on Prospekt Kozyrёv Street, a significant event took place on September 4, 2025. Residents of houses No. 36-40, under the banner of the "Preserve Nizhny" project, came together to renovate a children's playground.
The "Preserve Nizhny" project, now in its fourth year, aims to engage residents in city improvement initiatives. The main goal is to achieve resident involvement in transforming local areas, and this event was no exception.
Yevgeny Kostin, the First Deputy Chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma, and Victory Volunteers continue to support this project. Yevgeny Kostin noted that active participation of residents in such transformations is a valuable and significant endeavor.
Among the volunteers was Natasha, a native Sormovian, who expressed her happiness knowing that children will enjoy playing in the renovated playground. She stated that this symbolizes care for their district.
Local resident Maria Alexandrovna also participated in the renovation. She mentioned that the playground, popular among local children, had lost its appeal due to numerous graffiti, but has regained its charm after being refreshed with bright colors.
The "Preserve Nizhny" project, being implemented by the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public Movement "Volunteers of Victory" and ANO "Public Self-Government of Nizhny Novgorod" with the support of the administration of Nizhny Novgorod, continues to attract more active citizens to joint initiatives to improve the urban environment.
This event, reported by the City Duma press service, marks a step forward in the goal of achieving resident involvement in city improvement. By participating in the renovation of the children's playground, each resident contributed to improving their city's appearance.
The "Preserve Nizhny" project aims to renovate and bring more than 35 courtyard territories in all districts of the city into order in 2025. The organization that planned this project in collaboration with ANO "Public Self-Government of Nizhny Novgorod" and with the support of the Nizhny Novgorod administration is the Nizhny Novgorod Urban Development Foundation.
