Party Appoints New Administrative Leader
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Ayoola Olajolo as the new Director of Administration at its National Secretariat, following the tragic passing of the previous Director, AbdulRauf Adekunle Adeniji.
Olajola, a lawyer and experienced public administrator, hails from Ile-Ife in Osun State. He began his public service career in local government, serving as Secretary of Ife Central Local Government from 1999 to 2003. After his tenure, he joined the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), where he held the position of Assistant Chief Legal Officer.
At NASRDA, Olajola gained experience in public policy and organizational management, handling complex administrative and legal responsibilities. He was later called to the Nigerian Bar in 2016. These roles helped Olajola develop strong administrative skills and a clear understanding of governance at the grassroots level.
After his service at NASRDA, Olajola was elected Chairman of Ife Central Local Government. In his new position at APC, Olajola is expected to manage the party's daily operations and oversee its administrative activities. He will manage human resources and ensure smooth execution of the party's programs and activities.
The APC has congratulated Olajola on his appointment, which was announced by Barr. Felix Morka, APC National Publicity Secretary, in a statement on Friday. The party wishes Olajola success in leading the Secretariat's administrative functions.
Olajola's appointment comes after the temporary closure of the APC National Secretariat following Adeniji's kidnapping in January 2025 and subsequent death in captivity. The APC has expressed its condolences to Adeniji's family and friends.
Olajola's predecessor as Director of Administration for the All Progressives Congress was Sheriff Abiodun Sulaimon, who died in 2018. Olajola is well-equipped to take on the challenges of his new role, having demonstrated his administrative skills and commitment to public service throughout his career.
