Party Tensions Arise Over Bengal Government Resolution Regarding Bengali Migrants; BJP Leading Whip Escorted Out of Assembly

In a series of events that have shaken the West Bengal Assembly, chaos erupted this week over a resolution related to Bengali migrants. The Hon'ble Leader of Opposition, Suvendu Adhikari, and BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul were suspended during the proceedings, following protests from the opposition.

The suspension of the BJP leaders came after they created a ruckus in the House, with Agnimitra Paul and Opposition Chief Whip Shankar Ghosh being among those suspended. The BJP MLAs were accused of disrupting the order of the House, but the BJP alleges that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is attempting to suppress the voice of the opposition.

The suspension of the BJP leaders was not the only controversy that made headlines. Union Minister Giriraj Singh made a statement in Kolkata, claiming that the TMC and Mamata Banerjee's work is ongoing to turn Bengal into Bangladesh. The BJP has also alleged that Mamata Banerjee's government in West Bengal is working to turn the state into Bangladesh by appeasing Muslims to remain in power.

In response, Mamata Banerjee predicted that the BJP will have no MLA from their party in West Bengal in the future. She alleged that the BJP has a colonial mindset and is the party of 'Vote Chor'. The TMC chief also stated that no party that wages linguistic terror against Bengalis can ever win Bengal.

The Trinamool Congress has accused the BJP of dismantling their "Bhasha Andolan protest site" despite prior permission and security deposits. The incident at Mayo Road, involving the dismantling of the protest site, is not the Army's doing, according to the Trinamool Congress.

The BJP, in response, accused the Trinamool Congress of turning Bengal into Bangladesh. BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul predicts that the people of Bengal will give a fitting reply to the TMC in 2026.

The controversy did not end there. Mamata Banerjee faced protests from the opposition during her speech, resulting in her prediction remaining unchallenged. The BJP MLA was forced out of the West Bengal assembly by female marshals, and he accused Mamata Banerjee of fearing the voice of the opposition.

The West Bengal Chief Minister moved a motion condemning alleged incidents against Bengali-speaking people. The Trinamool Congress has also accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of being against the Bangla-speaking people.

As the political landscape in West Bengal continues to evolve, it remains to be seen how these controversies will impact the political future of the state.
