On January 23, 2021, the Almaty Oncology Center will be hosting an open door day from 9:00 to 13:00, as part of the week of prevention of cervical cancer in the Republic of Kazakhstan. This event aims to raise awareness about the importance of cervical cancer screenings, and women are invited to attend for free consultations with specialists.

The open day will take place at Almaty, Papagina Street, 220, Liter A, 1st floor, KGP, and women can undergo an examination by an oncologist-gynecologist during the event. The preventive examination is being held with the participation of leading oncologists-gynecologists.

Cervical cancer is the fourth most common type of cancer in women, and it is most commonly detected in women over the age of 30. In 2020, 145 new cases of cervical cancer were registered in Almaty. Early detection of cervical cancer can increase the chances of full recovery, potentially reaching 100%.

According to Raihan Bolatbekova, head of the oncology gynecology department at the Almaty Oncology Center, every woman has a risk of developing cervical cancer. Regular screening is essential to prevent and detect cervical cancer at an early stage.
