Two Cyclists Injured in Separate Traffic Accidents in Troisdorf and Sankt Augustin
In a series of unfortunate events, two cyclists were injured in separate traffic accidents that occurred on September 3. The first accident took place in Troisdorf-Spich at around 07:40, while the second accident occurred in Sankt Augustin-Mülldorf at around 09:45.
In the Troisdorf accident, a 51-year-old cyclist from Troisdorf collided with a car driven by another local resident. The car driver, who failed to notice the cyclist, turned left onto Dauner Straße. Fortunately, the car driver was unharmed in the accident. The damage to the vehicles was minor, with the total damage estimated at a low four-figure sum in euros. However, the cyclist sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital for further treatment.
The second accident involved a 35-year-old cyclist from Hennef, who was riding on the wrong side of a bike path parallel to Bonner Straße. The cyclist collided with a car driven by a resident of Siegburg, who failed to notice the cyclist coming from his right and turned right onto Bonner Straße. The cyclist was taken to a hospital after falling onto the car's hood.
Both accidents resulted in injuries to the cyclists involved. The police drew up reports for suspected reckless bodily harm in both traffic accidents, as reported by the press officer of the Polizeidirektion Rhein-Sieg. The cyclist from Hennef also faces a fine for riding a bike path in the wrong direction.
The total damage in the Sankt Augustin accident was estimated at a mid-four-figure sum in euros. The exact figures for the Troisdorf accident were not disclosed, but it was also estimated to be a low four-figure sum in euros.
