Pending Determination: Commission Holds Off on Implementing the Described Measures
The much-anticipated sixth and final phase of the Moislinger Allee renovation project in Lübeck has been completed, marking the end of a significant infrastructure improvement initiative.
Initiated in June, the project, which aimed to meet increasing traffic demands, enhance safety for all road users, and improve the quality of life for residents, has been shortened by several weeks. The works are now set to be completed before September 7, 2025.
As part of the renovation, the road surface on approximately 20,000 square meters was renewed, and the road surface of the Roter Löwe bridge was also replaced. The marking works will be performed on August 29, 2025, marking the end of the renovation project.
Traffic on Moislinger Allee will resume on August 29, 2025, in the late afternoon. Bus traffic will return to regular operation by early Saturday morning, August 29, 2025. Moislinger Allee will be reopened to full traffic by late afternoon.
The Hanseatic City of Lübeck thanks all involved parties for their patience during the construction period. The Moislinger Allee, which connects the districts of Moisling and the city center of Lübeck, has been reopened to regular traffic upon completion of the works.
It is important to note that further restrictions for car and bus traffic will be implemented at the intersection of Moislinger Allee/Margarethenstraße from mid-September due to canal construction works by the Lübeck Waste Management Authority. The intersection area was spared during the road renovation works and will be completely renewed as part of the EBL project.
Before the start of the renovation works, bus stops were reconstructed to ensure smooth operation during the construction period. The project's shortened duration is due to cooperative collaboration with the executing firm and adjusted planning with parallel construction phases.
The Hanseatic City of Lübeck looks forward to the improved traffic flow and safer conditions for all road users on Moislinger Allee. The city thanks the public for their understanding and patience during the renovation process.
