Wildlife Photographer Harry Williams Aims for Nikon Z8 or Z9

In the picturesque countryside of rural Cornwall, self-taught photographer Harry Williams has been capturing the beauty of nature and wildlife for over a decade. With a passion for wildlife photography that began on an iPod Touch, Williams has since upgraded to a Sony HX50 point-and-shoot, a Nikon D3300, and now a Nikon D500.

Williams' latest ambition is to upgrade once more, expressing interest in the Nikon Z8 or Z9 camera, paired with the Nikkor Z 600mm f/4 TC VR S lens. This equipment would provide the perfect tools for his quest to make wildlife photography his full-time career.

The journey to becoming a successful wildlife photographer has not been without its challenges. Williams advises aspiring photographers not to stress about finding their unique style right away, as it will develop naturally over time. He himself has been inspired by photographers such as Morten Hilmer and Rachel Bigsby.

Through dedication, practice, and a keen eye for capturing moments, Williams has achieved numerous career highlights. His work has been featured in an article titled "Accidental discovery leads to award-winning photography," and he has published his photos in a magazine. A personal highlight for Williams was a trip to Bempton earlier this year, where he photographed gannets, puffins, and razorbills.

Despite his success, Williams' biggest obstacle remains himself and his self-criticism. He finds the thrill of searching for wildlife and capturing their behaviors in still images addictive, but the pursuit of perfection can be a daunting task.

His dream assignment is to photograph in the Arctic, specifically polar bears, arctic foxes, and snowy owls. With his passion, talent, and determination, there is no telling what the future holds for this self-taught wildlife photographer from Cornwall.
