Performance of musical bridge Nida-Lübeck, celebrating the 150th anniversary of Thomas Mann through a music concert.

The city of Lübeck is set to host a unique cultural event on September 13, 2025, as the Kolosseum plays host to the Musical Bridge: Nida - Lübeck concert. This concert is a collaboration aimed at keeping the legacy of Thomas Mann alive, symbolising literature, democracy, and historical memory.

The program for the evening is an exciting blend of contemporary and classical music. The renowned St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra Vilnius from Lithuania will perform, along with works by three Lithuanian contemporary music representatives: Faustas Latėnas, Algirdas Martinaitis, and Vidmantas Bartulis. The repertoire will also feature music by the famous Lithuanian composer, painter, and pioneer of symbolism, Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, and a work by the German composer Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy.

Lithuania is also celebrating a significant milestone this year - the 150th birthday of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis. This concert provides a perfect platform to honour his legacy.

The evening will be introduced by historian Prof. Dr. Ruth Leiserowitz, promising an insightful start to the event.

Tickets for the concert can be purchased online, at the museum shop "Buddenbrooks am Markt", or at the box office. Admission is €25 for adults and €20 for reduced-price tickets and children.

The concert program focuses on Thomas Mann's connection to Lübeck, as the Mann family owned a holiday home in Nidden on the Curonian Spit. The concert is organised by the Thomas Mann Culture Center in Nidden, in cooperation with the Museums of Neringa, and the Buddenbrook House/Heinrich and Thomas Mann Center in Lübeck.

This concert is not just a musical event, but a cultural testimony of community, remembrance, and creative dialogue between Lithuania and Germany. For more information, visit [provided website]. Doors open at 7 pm.
