Person on the move after car collision
In the small town of Euskirchen, Germany, a tragic incident occurred on the afternoon of August 20th. At exactly 3 PM, a hit-and-run bicycle accident took place on an asphalted farm track between Euskirchen-Kirchheim and Euskirchen-Kirspenich.
The victim of the accident was a 62-year-old man, who was traveling with a three-year-old child on a child seat and another child following on a children's bicycle. The man was on a pedal-assisted bicycle when the accident happened.
The accident was caused by a driver who suddenly pulled out onto the asphalted farm track, leading the man to swerve to avoid a collision. Unfortunately, he lost control and fell to the ground. The driver, who was described as a male approximately 35 to 40 years old, was driving a black Mini SUV and fled the scene without stopping to help.
Fortunately, the children involved in the accident were unharmed. However, the man was injured and was quickly taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Another vehicle, an unknown car, was traveling on a gravel path towards the asphalted farm track at the time of the accident. The police are currently investigating the incident and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
The incident has shocked the local community, and the police are urging drivers to be more careful on the roads, especially when it comes to sharing the road with cyclists and pedestrians.
