Gerresheim's Pig-Themed Carnival Party Delights Guests

The Karnevalists of Saubande from Gerresheim hosted a memorable costume party at The Big Top at Flinger Broich on February 15. The event, filled with music, dancing, and vibrant costumes, was a hit among the attendees.

The first highlight of the evening was the debut performance of Saubande's own dance group, the Pig Ladies. Led by Mother Pig Ricarda Dünnwald, the Pig Ladies entertained the crowd with energetic performances to popular songs like "Let me entertain you", "Everybody", "Barbie Girl", "Let's get loud", "Gangnam Style", and "What a Feeling". The performance was a tough workout, especially for the lady in the pig costume.

The Pig Ladies' performance was followed by a jubilant welcome for Prince Andreas I and Princess Evelyn, who arrived with a delegation. The royal couple won the hearts of the revellers with their speeches and the session song "Düsseldorf Helau".

The party atmosphere continued, thanks to DJ Torsten Abels who ensured a lively atmosphere with his upbeat tunes. The guests too had put in a lot of effort with their costumes, adding to the festive vibe of the evening.

The Big Top was buzzing with excitement, demanding more, and so they performed "What a Feeling" as an encore. The night was filled with joy and laughter, setting the tone for the upcoming events in Gerresheim.

Mark your calendars for the "Altweiber" event on February 28 at 11:11 AM at Gerresheim town hall, Neusser Tor 8. The "Veedelszoch" (neighborhood carnival parade) is scheduled for Karneval Sunday starting at 11:11 AM. The locations for these processions can be found here.

The Pig Ladies are eager to continue and have invited guests to join them. Application forms are available for those interested in joining the dance group. The Saubande group is also organizing the "Veedelszoch", so get ready to join in the fun!
