In a significant move towards renewable energy, global law firm X has advised PKO Bank Polski on a EUR 90 million financing for the Annopol I onshore wind farm in Poland. The wind farm, sponsored by international power producer OX2, is set to have a total capacity of 40 MW and is located in the Gościeradów municipality, Lubelskie Voivodship.

The successful completion of the Annopol I wind farm financing demonstrates the effectiveness of close cooperation between the bank, sponsors, and legal advisors in making ambitious renewable energy investments a reality. OX2's operations span nine markets, contributing to a more sustainable society.

A multidisciplinary team from law firm X, led by energy and project finance partner Tomasz Rogalski, worked on the financing transaction. The team included partners Karolina Lepakiewicz and Arturo Sferruzza, associate Karolina Lepakiewicz, senior associate Igor Kondratowicz-Laderski, lawyer Antoni Krzyżanowski, and associate Jakub Wiatrzyk. They provided English law advice, with partner Kumaran Thavarajah and associate Markus Ulrik Leding from Kromann Reumert offering Danish law advice for the project.

Counsel Cezary Zawiślak, Martyna Orłowska, Nina Strzelczyk, Mikołaj Rydzewski, counsel Krzysztof Gorzelak, and lawyer Antoni Krzyżanowski were involved in the legal due diligence workstream for the Annopol I wind farm financing. The due diligence workstream was led by counsel Cezary Zawiślak and included associate Martyna Orłowska, lawyer Nina Strzelczyk, and lawyers Mikołaj Rydzewski. Counsel Krzysztof Gorzelak and lawyer Antoni Krzyżanowski advised on the hedging aspects of the project.

The Annopol I wind farm financing involved various financing facilities and a complex, multi-jurisdictional structure. Tomasz Rogalski led the finance workstream and was assisted by partner Karolina Lepakiewicz, associate Karolina Lepakiewicz, lawyer Antoni Krzyżanowski, and associate Jakub Wiatrzyk.

Tomasz Rogalski, in his comments on the Annopol I wind farm financing, highlighted its importance in increasing the share of renewable energy in Poland's energy mix. He stated, "This project underscores our commitment to supporting the energy transition and promoting sustainable development."

OX2, founded in 2004, has been accelerating the energy transition by managing projects with a total capacity of 25,526 MW in various stages of development. The Annopol I wind farm, financed by PKO Bank Polski, is one of OX2's projects located in the Gościeradów municipality, Lubelskie Voivodship.

The Annopol I wind farm financing transaction marks a significant step forward in the pursuit of renewable energy in Poland and underscores the importance of close collaboration between banks, sponsors, and legal advisors in making such investments a reality.
