PNB maintains unyielding stance on preserving national and Bumiputera interests in the context of Prolintas review.
Malaysia's Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) has reaffirmed its dedication to upholding the best interests of its unitholders, the rakyat, and the nation, as it conducts a strategic review of its investments in Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd (Prolintas).
The review process, subject to the guidance given by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, is being carried out with a focus on preserving the long-term benefits for unitholders. It is also crucial that the review does not undermine PNB's significant contribution to the welfare of the people and national development.
Anwar, who is also the Minister of Finance, has urged PNB to prioritise national and Bumiputera interests in decisions concerning the strategic review of its investments in Prolintas. He emphasised the importance of maintaining PNB's role and holdings in the country's strategic assets.
PNB has welcomed the advice and guidance of the Prime Minister, appreciating the direction it provides for the review of PNB's strategic investment options in Prolintas. The guidance aligns with PNB's existing investment framework, which prioritises the interests of unitholders, the rakyat, national, and Bumiputera agendas when evaluating investments in strategic assets.
In a statement, PNB affirmed that it would not pursue asset divestment if it posed a risk to the long-term benefits of its unitholders. The commitment also aims to avoid adversely affecting PNB's efforts to contribute to the well-being of the rakyat and the country's development.
As PNB finalises and concludes the strategic options review exercise for Prolintas, it will adhere to the Prime Minister's guiding principles. This approach underscores PNB's continued dedication to serving the best interests of its unitholders, the nation, and the rakyat.
