Poker player Nick Schulman earns induction into the Poker Hall of Fame following his initial nomination in 2025
Nick Schulman Inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame
Nick Schulman, a renowned poker player and commentator, has been inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame during the 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas. The prestigious honour acknowledges players and industry figures who have left a lasting impact on the game.
Schulman meets all the criteria for entry into the Hall of Fame, including competing against top competition, playing for high stakes, playing consistently well, and standing the test of time. He is one of the few players who have stood out in the poker world for over two decades.
Schulman's impressive tournament winnings exceed $24 million. His first major win came in 2005, when he won the WPT World Poker Finals for $2,167,500. This year, he added another significant victory to his portfolio by winning the $10,000 Deuce-to-Seven Single Draw Championship, defeating Darren Elias in the final round. Moreover, Schulman also finished third in the $10,000 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball Championship this summer.
Schulman's contributions extend beyond the poker table. He is one of the voices of the WSOP, with his popular Night Shift stints with Ali Nejad. His commentary skills and insightful analysis have made him a respected figure in the poker community.
In his induction speech, Schulman paid tribute to Phil Ivey, Brian Rast, Scott Seiver, and Andrew 'LuckyChewy' Lichtenberger, expressing his gratitude for their support and camaraderie throughout his career.
Notably, three big-hitters turned 40 since Patrick Antonius was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame last summer - Scott Seiver, Phil Galfond, and Nick Schulman. If the WSOP had inducted more than one player a year, Seiver and Galfond might have joined Schulman in 2025. However, the WSOP has been adhering to a policy of admitting only one new member annually to maintain the prestige and exclusivity of the honor.
The Poker Hall of Fame criteria require a player to have played poker against acknowledged top competition, played for high stakes, played consistently well, stood the test of time, and be at least 40 years old at the time of nomination. Alternatively, non-players can be inducted if they have contributed significantly to the growth and success of poker with lasting positive results.
With this induction, Nick Schulman now joins an elite group of players and industry figures who have made significant contributions to the world of poker.
