Police announcement originating from Aalen's police headquarters in the Rems-Murr district

In the early hours of Saturday morning, an incident occurred on the B29 between Urbach and Plüderhausen that put several road users at risk.

At around 1:20 AM, an unknown driver was reported to have been driving against the prescribed direction of traffic in the construction area on the B29. This wrong-way driver collided with three vehicles: a Ford, a Seat, and a Fiat.

The impact of the collision pushed the Seat car into a stationary Fiat truck. Fortunately, the driver of the Fiat was unharmed in the accident. However, the driver of the Ford, a 71-year-old individual, sustained slight injuries and was taken to a hospital by an RTW. The Seat driver also received slight injuries and sought medical attention on their own after the accident report.

The Schorndorf Police Station has taken up the investigation of the unknown car driver and is urging any witnesses who can provide information on the unknown vehicle to contact them. They can be reached at 07181-2040.

In addition, the Schorndorf Police Station is asking for victims who were put at risk by the wrong-way driver to come forward and contact them.

It is also worth noting that the 71-year-old Ford driver was involved in a separate incident on the L1197 near Nackarrems on Friday evening around 5:45 PM. This incident resulted in a rear-end collision.

The total damage from the accident on the B29 is estimated to be 11,500 euros.

The accident occurred around the height of the entrance to the Sami Khedira Stadium. The incident marks a reminder for all drivers to be mindful of traffic rules and to drive safely, especially in construction areas and during the night.
