In the early hours of this morning, the Kiel Police District was involved in a high-speed chase with a car that ignored police signals to stop and exceeded the speed limit significantly.

According to information provided by the Polizeidirektion Kiel and transmitted via news aktuell, the incident began at approximately 3 a.m. when a car with a Danish license plate evaded a police checkpoint in the area of Brunswiker Straße. The car ran red lights at the intersection with Möllingstraße and Kronshagener Weg, putting other road users at risk.

The police, led by the Polizeidirektion Flensburg, pursued the vehicle until it was stopped by road barriers on Lutherstraße. Shortly afterwards, officers found the car abandoned. The duty public prosecutor ordered the car to be seized.

In the vicinity of the fleeing vehicle, officers arrested two individuals aged 22 and 21. The 22-year-old was identified as the car's owner. Further investigation revealed that both men were under the influence of intoxicants.
