Police encounters resistance from officers following suspected drunk driving incident in Baden-Baden
In an incident that took place on Saturday evening, a 21-year-old man from Eslohe was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and resisting officers at the Police Headquarters Offenburg.
According to the police report, the suspect was driving a vehicle that collided with a wall in the courtyard of a property. Upon inspection, a strong smell of alcohol was detected on the driver, leading police to suspect drunkenness.
A breathalyzer test was administered, and the results showed a reading of over 1.4 per thousand, confirming the initial suspicion. However, the driver resisted arrest, forcing the police to use pepper spray to subdue him.
The 44-year-old driver was provisionally arrested and taken into custody. He now faces charges for "drunk driving" and "resisting officers."
