Police in Poland: Arrest of a Deceptive Artisan - Witnesses Sought for Investigation

The Rhein-Erft Police Department is currently investigating a theft that occurred at a residence on Marie-Juchacz-Straße in Bergheim-Oberaußem on Monday afternoon, August 11.

According to the police, the suspect gained entry to the apartment by claiming to be a handyman. The resident noticed that drawers were open and cash was missing after the suspect left the apartment. A criminal complaint has been filed.

The suspect is described as approximately 160 cm tall, of heavy build, and was wearing a checked shirt, a dark blue waistcoat, and a dark blue baseball cap. The police are searching for three men involved in the attempted burglary and have initiated a manhunt for the suspect.

Tradespeople and other service providers typically do not come unannounced. The police advise against letting strangers into one's apartment. They also advise to remain skeptical about any stated purposes and to confirm work appointments with the specified company or landlord.

The suspect is wanted for stealing cash from the apartment. The police have not confirmed if any other items were taken. The suspect was seen walking away towards the sports hall with another person from the balcony.
