Police Report Highlights Speed Control Activities by Reutlingen Headquarters in Counties of Reutlingen, Esslingen, Tübingen, and Zollnalb from August 5 to August 10
A week-long speed control operation across the districts of Reutlingen, Esslingen, Tübingen, and Zollernalb has resulted in over 6,000 speeding violations, according to news aktuell from the Police Headquarters Reutlingen.
The operation, which was closely monitored on accident-prone routes, aimed to increase awareness of the dangers of speeding and sustainably reduce the speed level. The majority of offenses were detected by light barrier measuring devices and measuring trailers of the police and municipalities.
One of the most egregious offenders was a 21-year-old driver of an Alfa Romeo, who was measured at 147 km/h on the B10 at Wernau, where the speed limit is 80 km/h. This driver, who has a history of speeding offenses, faces a two-month driving ban and a substantial fine of around 600 euros. In total, around 40 drivers were speeding so much that they face a driving ban.
Most of the offenses were within the warning range, but around 960 drivers can expect a fine and points in Flensburg. Those who have received a speeding ticket can contact Christian Wörner at 07121/942-1102 (Monday to Friday, 7:00 to 17:00) or 07121/942-1111 (outside these hours) or 07121/942-2224 for inquiries. The traffic police and police stations under the jurisdiction of the Police Headquarters Reutlingen, in coordination with districts and municipalities, conducted the speed controls.
The controls will continue with the aim of increasing awareness of the dangers of speeding and sustainably reducing the speed level. More information can be found at http://www.polizei-bw.de. Drivers are reminded to always adhere to the posted speed limits and drive safely.
