In an incident reported yesterday, a 47-year-old man was stopped by the police in Neustadt/Weinstraße for driving under the influence of cannabis. According to a press release issued by the Police Inspectorate Salzgitter/Peine/Wolfenbüttel (SZ/PE/WF) on September 15, 2025, the man was found smoking a joint while driving.

Upon stopping the man, the police officers conducted a drug test, which revealed positive results for THC. As a consequence, his further journey was prohibited, and a blood sample was taken from him.

The press release, which is free for publication with reference to the source, states that if the blood test shows a concentration of 3.5 ng/ml THC or more, the man can expect a fine of 500 euros, two points in Flensburg, and a one-month driving ban in the administrative offense procedure.

It is important to note that driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs endangers not only the driver but also all other road users. Always leaving your car if you are not sober is advised to avoid such situations.
