Political leader engages in a sentimental reminiscence, crediting his late mother's influence as a beacon of wisdom that continues to guide him in his career as chairman of the African People's Congress.
In a poignant moment, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed his grief over the passing of his mother, Mama Lydia Yilwatda, at the age of 83. The matriarch passed away after a brief illness.
Mama Lydia, a devoted Christian and a respected leader in the Church of Christ in Nations, left behind a legacy that her son, Prof. Yilwatda, intends to emulate and continue for the benefit of Nigerians. Her son, who was the firstborn and the only child for eight years, described their bond as indescribable.
In a heartfelt tribute, Prof. Yilwatda praised his mother for her unwavering dedication to their upbringing, investing a significant amount of her time and resources to ensure a bright future for her family.
The APC National Chairman also received condolences from Malam Ali, who urged Prof. Yilwatda to view his mother's passing as the will of the Almighty and a reason for thanksgiving due to his achievements. Malam Ali emphasized the importance of maintaining the unbiased nature of the government media organization, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), as envisaged by its founding father and past Managing Directors.
NAN, commended for maintaining objectivity and providing a platform for diverse views without compromising professional ethics, was represented during the conversation with Prof. Yilwatda by its Managing Director and a team consisting of Khaliel Abduhadi, Stephen Igiewe, Ismail Abdulaziz, and Ngozi Anofochi.
Prof. Yilwatda also spoke about the positive impact of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the country, leading to increased infrastructure development across Nigeria. In light of this, the APC intends to continue partnering with NAN to share the party's achievements and the administration's progress.
The APC recently had a successful by-election, a testament to the party's commitment to the present and future of the country and its youth. Prof. Yilwatda reiterated this commitment, stating that the APC is a party that prioritizes the well-being of Nigerians and aims to be the voice of the voiceless, considering all shades of opinions.
The predecessor of Prof. Yilwatda as chairman of the APC was Samuel Adekunle Ayo. Prof. Yilwatda was praised by Ali for reaching a significant position, having been his mother's child. The article was edited by Rabiu Sani-ali.
In a show of respect and solidarity, Prof. Yilwatda's mother's legacy is considered to be her son's success. He believes that this success shows that Nigerians are beginning to see what the APC can offer. Prof. Yilwatda believes that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is leading the country towards a brighter future, and he is committed to being a part of this journey.
