The earbuds are expected to be released in the fall of 2025, likely in September, and will come in at least one colour: distinctive orange. While details about the Powerbeats Fit's features are still emerging, it's clear that they are designed for active use. Like the Powerbeats Pro 2, they are expected to include heart rate monitoring. However, it remains unclear if they will also feature active noise cancellation (ANC).
The Powerbeats Pro 2, currently retailing for 300 euros, already boasts ANC, but its heart rate monitoring feature has been criticised for its accuracy and limited compatibility with certain apps. The Fit Pro, on the other hand, already has ANC, but it's unknown what sets the Powerbeats Fit apart from the Fit Pro. It's uncertain if both the Powerbeats Fit and Fit Pro will be offered in parallel or if the Fit Pro might be replaced by the Powerbeats Fit.
Meanwhile, Apple is expected to release the third generation of AirPods Pro in the fall. This upcoming model may introduce health features for the first time. However, it's unclear if the AirPods Pro 3 will have active noise cancellation (ANC) and heart rate monitoring features.
Apple does not officially approve the current AirPods for sports use, despite many users using them for that purpose. On the other hand, the Powerbeats Fit, like the Powerbeats Pro 2, are designed for sports use.
