Weather Alert for Bengaluru: Scattered Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain Expected

Residents of Bengaluru are advised to brace for scattered thunderstorms with strong winds on September 2, 2025, as per the latest weather report published by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The city is also expected to witness light to moderate rainfall on September 1, 2025.

According to the report, cloudy skies will prevail over Bengaluru on September 1, and the city is expected to experience sunset at 06:31 PM. The maximum temperature on that day is forecasted to be 27 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will be 20 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels may hover around 91 percent.

The weather department has warned that traffic disruptions and weak tree branches uprooting are possible on September 2, and residents are advised to stay indoors and close windows and doors. There is also a risk of temporary electricity disruptions due to the rainfall on that day.

Meanwhile, the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) has shared a weather report on a platform called X for seven days. The report predicts scattered to widespread light to moderate rainfall over the coastal and Malnad districts of Karnataka from September 1 to 7, 2025. Isolated heavy rainfall is expected in Karnataka on September 2 and 3, with the KSNDMC's report predicting isolated very heavy rainfall on these days.

The Southwest Monsoon, a seasonal wind shift that brings heavy rainfall to South Asia, including India, from June to September, is responsible for the anticipated rainfall in Karnataka. This wind pattern, characterized by winds blowing from land to sea and from sea to land, brings moisture and rainfall to the region.

It is important to note that no information about the weather forecast for Mumbai or the Southwest Monsoon update was directly related to Bengaluru, so they were not included in this report.

Stay safe and dry, Bengaluru! Keep a close eye on weather updates and follow the advice of the weather department to ensure your safety during these rainy days.
