Private equity firm ICG has appointed Richard Young, previously with Oaktree Capital Management, to head its UK institutional business.

In a significant move, Investment company ICG has appointed Richard Young as the Managing Director of its Client Solutions Group. The announcement was made in a statement, where Young expressed his enthusiasm to work with ICG.

Richard Young, who previously spent six and a half years at Oaktree Capital Management, will be based in London. At Oaktree, he held the role of Managing Director and Head of UK Institutional Capital Raising, focusing on client relationships and investment solutions for institutional clients such as Local Government Pension Schemes (LGPS), family offices, pension schemes, and insurance companies.

Before his tenure at Oaktree, Young worked for almost eight years at T Rowe Price, holding various client relationship roles.

In his new role at ICG, Young will be responsible for the company's UK institutional clients. He aims to expand ICG's reach among key UK institutions. The statement from Young indicates his confidence in ICG's ability to manage client capital through market cycles.

Young's post on LinkedIn suggests that he has already started his new role at ICG. He expressed his anticipation to work with Bashak and the wider client solutions group at ICG. He also looks forward to leveraging the ICG platform.

Richard Young reports into Bashak-Julianna Demir, European head of the client solutions group at ICG.

This appointment comes as ICG continues to expand its presence in the private assets market. With Young's extensive experience in client relationship management and investment solutions, ICG is poised to strengthen its position in the UK institutional market.
