Prolonged aerial attacks by Israel wreak havoc on Gaza for 700 days, leveling approximately 90% of the region, and claiming the lives of an estimated 64,400 people.
In the last seven hundred days, the Israeli-occupied Gaza Strip has been under siege, with its 2.4 million residents facing unimaginable hardships. Since March 2, all border crossings have been closed, pushing the territory into a state of famine.
The death toll in Gaza has reached a staggering 64,368, with an additional 68 lives lost in the past 24 hours. Of these, six were children who succumbed to malnutrition and starvation, bringing the famine-linked death toll since October 2023 to 382 people, including 135 children.
The violence has claimed over 73,700 lives or left them missing, including over 20,000 children and 12,500 women. The destruction of Gaza's infrastructure has been catastrophic, with nearly 90% of it destroyed. This has resulted in losses exceeding $68 billion.
The military campaign has taken a heavy toll on the civilian population, with more than 162,000 Palestinians injured, many suffering life-changing injuries such as amputations, paralysis, and loss of sight. The medical community has been severely impacted, with 1,670 medical personnel, 139 civil defense members, and 173 municipal employees killed.
The destruction of essential facilities is evident in the loss of 38 hospitals, 833 mosques, and 163 educational institutions. The media office in Gaza holds Israel and its supporters, chiefly the U.S., responsible for this devastation.
In the past 24 hours, 23 Palestinians were killed and over 143 others injured by Israeli army fire while trying to get humanitarian aid. Hundreds of thousands of aid trucks have been blocked from entering Gaza, pushing 2.4 million residents, including over 1 million children, to the brink of famine.
The international community's response to this crisis has been divided. Countries such as Kuwait, Ireland, Iceland, Turkey, and Colombia have not recognized or supported Israel's responsibility for attacks on the Gaza Strip, often criticizing Israeli actions. In contrast, the United States and certain European countries, including the UK, Denmark, France, Greece, and Slovenia, have supported or stood by Israel, with the United States explicitly defending Israel at the UN Security Council.
The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza last November. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
The media office in Gaza calls on Arab and Islamic countries, the broader international community, and the United Nations to end the aggression, lift the blockade, secure the return of displaced families, and hold Israeli leaders accountable before international courts. The total number of Palestinians killed while seeking aid is now 2,385, with over 17,577 others wounded since May 27. The Israeli bombardment of Gaza continues, with no end in sight.
