On Friday, 22nd August, officers from the Regional Traffic Service set up a speed checkpoint on Licher Straße, near Heinrich-Fourier-Straße in Gießen. The speed check was part of motorcycle checks conducted by the Central Hesse Police Headquarters.

During the speed check, a total of 15 motorcycles, 22 cars, 4 trucks, and an e-scooter were checked. The results showed that 14 of the 22 cars were found to be speeding, with one driver exceeding the speed limit by 22 km/h, resulting in a €115 fine and a point on their driving license.

The most notable incident occurred when a driver arrived at the scene on an e-scooter, driving at 82 km/h. This violation resulted in a €260 fine, 2 points on their driving license, and a one-month driving ban. The e-scooter was seized due to repeated violations, including riding with multiple children and riding on the sidewalk.

Fortunately, no other serious traffic violations were found during the speed check, apart from minor traffic offenses. All motorcycles were in compliance with the speed limit and in good condition.
