In the past few days, several incidents have been reported across the Thuringian region, including traffic accidents, property damage, and a potential criminal investigation.
Yesterday morning, a truck collision occurred on Roter Rain street in Sontra at 06:39 AM. The collision involved a 22-year-old driver from Bayreuth and a 70-year-old driver from Eschwege. The elderly driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for further examination. Estimated property damage is approximately 5,500 EUR. According to the Sontra Police, no specific details about this incident were provided.
Another accident occurred yesterday morning on Schwebdaer Straße in Grebendorf, resulting from a 78-year-old driver failing to notice a minibus signaling a left turn. This incident led to a side impact collision between the minibus and a car. No further details about injuries or property damage were reported.
In a separate incident, a car accident occurred on the B 7 near Eschwege yesterday evening, causing approximately 10,000 EUR in property damage. The Sontra Police did not provide any specific details about this incident either.
Apart from the traffic accidents, a plastic bench was on fire on the bike path between Witzenhausen and Wendershausen yesterday evening at 20:58. The bench was deliberately set on fire using an accelerant, resulting in its complete destruction; the damage is estimated at around 250 EUR.
In addition, a wallet was stolen during a lecture in the university rooms in Steinstraße in Witzenhausen on 15.11.23, between 17:00 and 19:00. The wallet contained the victim's bank card, student ID, and 20 EUR in cash.
Last night, a group of people running through the city center (market) shouting was reported in Witzenhausen at 00:23. Around 01:30 AM, a 39-year-old driver from Hessisch Lichtenau was stopped and found to be driving under the influence of alcohol in the area of Hilberlachestraße / B 27 in Bad Sooden-Allendorf.
Furthermore, on 15.11.23, around 11:30 AM, another accident occurred on the B 27 near Oberrieden. This incident involved a detached support leg from a truck causing property damage to four following cars. No injuries were reported, but the estimated property damage is not known.
In a disturbing turn of events, around 00:23 last night, at least one person from the group running through the city center in Witzenhausen is said to have shouted "Sieg Heil". A criminal investigation has been initiated for the use of unconstitutional symbols.
In the same incident, an accident occurred involving a 31-year-old driver from Helsa and a 49-year-old driver from Ilmenau. Both drivers sustained minor injuries. The accident was a failure to yield, with the 31-year-old driving straight ahead in a slight right curve, entering the oncoming lane. No further details about this incident were provided.
