Radiation safety for workers remains unaddressed by the Commission, as they have yet to approve a directive aimed at shielding laborers from potential ionizing radiation hazards.

Proposal for shielding workers from ionizing radiation risks has yet to be approved by the Commission.

In the peaceful town of Friedberg, Hesse, two separate incidents of vandalism and aggressive behaviour have occurred within a short span of time.

On the night of August 27, 2025, an unknown individual broke into a container at a recycling center located on Schwalheimer Straße, Dorheim, Giessen. The exact time of the break-in remains unknown, but it is known that the individual did not steal any items from the container.

In a separate incident, on the morning of August 28, 2025, a 62-year-old man acted aggressively during an appointment at the Friedberg city office. A public order officer asked the man to leave, but he struck the officer in the neck while being escorted out. The man was subsequently arrested by the police and taken to a psychiatric facility for evaluation.

The man is currently being investigated for resisting arrest, insulting, and threatening public officials.

In another unfortunate incident, unknown individuals vandalized a barn in Petterweil, near the sports field, with graffiti. The vandalism was discovered on Thursday afternoon (28.08.2025) around 12:00 PM. The graffiti included a swastika and other symbols on a wall.

The state criminal police are investigating the vandalism, and witnesses who saw suspicious individuals around the time of the break-in at the recycling center are asked to contact the Friedberg Criminal Police. Witnesses who saw anything suspicious regarding the vandalism in Petterweil are encouraged to call Bad Vilbel at 06101 54600.

It is important to note that no connection has been established between the two incidents at this time.

The Friedberg police station officers arrested the man involved in the aggressive behaviour at the city office and took him to a psychiatric facility for evaluation. The exact details of this incident are still under investigation.
