Quality care services in London granted extended three-year accreditation for top-tier healthcare delivery

The City of London's long-term care home, The Dearness Home, has achieved a significant milestone. The home, which houses 243 residents, has received a three-year accreditation from the Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

This accreditation, earned with no recommendations, is a source of pride for The Dearness Home. Leslie Hancock, the administrator of the home, stated that "caring for residents is the core of our work."

The evaluation process involved private interviews with residents, clients, family members, community partners, staff, and leadership. The Dearness Home exceeded 1,500 best practice standards during the review of procedures and policies, demonstrating a consistent commitment to providing the highest standard of care.

The evaluation compared The Dearness Home with similar organizations based on factors like size, location, number of people served, and management. The team at The Dearness Home has put thoughtful policies and practices in place, as stated by Leslie Hancock. The staff consistently goes beyond expectations to ensure residents receive the best care possible.

The accreditation serves as a reassuring sign that The Dearness Home is on the right track. Sandra Datars Bere, the city manager, expressed pride in this accomplishment, stating that this achievement reflects the strong leadership and dedication of the staff and volunteers at The Dearness Home.

The Adult Day Program and Wellness Centre at The Dearness Home also earned the accreditation, further solidifying the home's commitment to providing comprehensive care. Dr. Janet Howard, who led the leadership of Dearness Home during the accreditation process, emphasized the importance of this achievement.

The accreditation awarded by CARF is a clear example of what can be achieved when working together to enhance the quality of life for residents at The Dearness Home. Leslie Hancock reiterated this sentiment, stating that "this achievement is a testament to our team's hard work and dedication to our residents."
