Quantum Computing Exchange-Traded Fund inaugurated by WisdomTree
The US-based ETP sponsor WisdomTree has announced the launch of the WisdomTree Quantum Computing UCITS ETF, a new investment vehicle designed to provide diversified exposure to companies operating across the quantum computing ecosystem.
The ETF, which aims to provide investors with exposure to the growing field of quantum computing, will be listed on the Swiss exchange Six, Xetra, and Borsa Italiana today, and on the London Stock Exchange on 3 September 2025.
Pierre Debru, Head of Research, Europe, WisdomTree, introduces the ETF as a thoughtfully constructed vehicle to access the growth potential of quantum computing. He believes that quantum computing is on the cusp of becoming commercially viable, marking a significant inflection point for the technology.
The ETF's primary focus is on the field of quantum computing. It will provide exposure to quantum chip and qubit technology providers, quantum networking and communication firms, quantum software and algorithm developers, and suppliers of advanced computing infrastructure, semiconductors, and specialised materials.
In addition, the ETF will also provide exposure to providers of post-quantum cryptography and Quantum-as-a-Service platforms. The ETF's scope extends beyond the field of quantum computing, including various sectors within the quantum computing ecosystem.
However, the ETF does not specify which specific companies it will provide exposure to. Foundational support firms and quantum software companies that enable quantum research, although specific company names beyond the main holdings are not detailed in the available sources.
The ETF is designed to track the price and yield performance of the WisdomTree Classiq Quantum Computing Ucits Index. The total expense ratio (TER) of the ETF is 0.50%.
This new ETF is an exciting development for investors interested in the rapidly evolving field of quantum computing. As more companies join the quantum race, the potential for growth and innovation is immense, making the WisdomTree Quantum Computing UCITS ETF an attractive investment option for those seeking to capitalise on the opportunities in this burgeoning technology.
Please note that the ETF is not currently listed on the London Stock Exchange, and it will list on the London Stock Exchange on a future date (3 September 2025). As with any investment, it's essential to conduct thorough research and consider your investment goals and risk tolerance before making a decision.
