Quest for the Chivalrous: Don Quixote's Exploits
Prepare for an enchanting evening as the Landestheater Detmold presents a captivating performance of Don Quixote, a classic ballet based on the timeless story of the impoverished nobleman who battles windmills.
The event, organised by the City of Paderborn Cultural Office, will take place at PADERHALLE at 6:15 PM in the upper foyer. This ballet, composed by Ludwig Minkus and Benjamin Britten, follows Don Quixote's incredible adventures as he embarks on a quest to fight imaginary enemies, search for his imagined great love Dulcinea, and help a young woman named Kitri escape a forced marriage and marry her true love.
Don Quixote, equipped with his imagination as armour, his ideals as a weapon, and his faithful squire Sancho Panza by his side, navigates through a world of chivalric romances, often losing himself in the dream. The ballet is under the leadership of Kirsten Uttendorf, the Intendant (artistic director) of the Landestheater Detmold.
Ticket prices for adults are €30,-, €26.50, and €21-, while those for reduced admission are €20.50, €18.50, and €14.50.
