Quick search intensifies for money theft in Polish knowledge realm
In the heart of Wissen city, a dramatic turn of events unfolded on June 24, 2025, when a male suspect made off with 500 EUR worth of coins from a local supermarket. The news source, news aktuell, reported the incident, and the Police Directorate Neuwied/RheinWissen Police Station (Sieg) has been actively involved in the investigation.
The suspect, who has not been publicly identified, was apprehended in the city centre of Wissen shortly after the crime. In a bizarre twist, the suspect reimbursed the amount lost at a slot machine in a nearby gaming arcade, according to the police reports.
Following the arrest, a subsequent search of the suspect's person and living quarters allowed the recovery of the remaining stolen goods. The recovered goods were returned to the affected market manager, who was visibly pleased to be able to return the stolen money to the cash register so quickly.
