Racing giant Cadillac reveals its lineup of Formula 1 drivers for the year 2026

In an exciting development for the world of Formula 1, American automaker Cadillac has announced its entry into the sport, marking the first new entrant since 2016. The Cadillac F1 Team will be backed by TWG Motorsports and General Motors (GM) and will operate from three hubs: Fishers, Indiana; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Silverstone, UK.

Two veteran Formula 1 drivers, Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas, have been signed as drivers for the team. Both Perez and Bottas left their previous teams in 2024, with Perez parting ways with Red Bull and Bottas departing from Alfa Romeo (later Sauber).

Perez expressed his excitement about joining the Cadillac F1 Team, viewing it as a new chapter in his career. Bottas, too, acknowledged the professionalism and hunger within the team, stating he is honoured to be part of the team's development. Both drivers perceive a passion and determination behind the Cadillac F1 project.

The team management for the 2026 season will be led by Graeme Lowdon as Team Principal and Dan Towriss as the overseeing CEO from TWG Motorsports. Pat Symonds plays a key executive engineering and advisory role in the team management.

Cadillac will use Ferrari powertrains for its Formula 1 team, and Perez believes the team will fight at the front in time, citing his past experiences with top teams. The team's debut in Formula 1 will be in the 2026 season, with the first race taking place in Melbourne on March 8.

Bottas shared similar sentiments, expressing his eagerness to contribute to the team's development. He also highlighted the team's potential, stating that the Cadillac F1 Team has all the ingredients to become a force to be reckoned with in the sport.

The entry of Cadillac into Formula 1 promises to bring fresh competition and excitement to the sport. As the team embarks on this ambitious project, fans and enthusiasts alike eagerly await the team's progress in the coming seasons.
