Former Major League Baseball Player Jayson Werth Joins the Racing World with Wesley Ward

Jayson Werth, the former baseball star now making waves in the Netflix racing series 'Race for the Crown', has taken a new step in his journey into the horse racing world. This time, he's not just a spectator but a part-owner, thanks to a fateful encounter with renowned trainer Wesley Ward.

The encounter, which took place at a horse sale, led Werth to Deauville, France, where he was introduced to Outfielder, a new addition to his racing stable. The horse, named after Werth's baseball position, is currently being trained at Deauville's all-weather training track.

Werth was shown around the track with Outfielder, and the colt was even shown to one of Deauville's quaint owners' boxes for training. The trainer of Outfielder is Riley Ward, Wesley's son, who is also making a name for himself in the racing world.

Interestingly, this encounter and Werth's involvement with Outfielder did not involve Werth's previous racing success, Dornoch. Dornoch, which won the Haskell Stakes at Saratoga and the third leg of the Triple Crown, had already made its mark in the racing firmament before this new chapter began.

The encounter with Wesley Ward occurred approximately a year after Dornoch's victory, marking a significant milestone in Werth's racing career. With Outfielder now part of his stable, Werth is undoubtedly set to make his mark in the racing world once again.

As Werth continues to immerse himself in the world of horse racing, fans of 'Race for the Crown' and racing enthusiasts alike are eager to see what the future holds for this former baseball star turned racing aficionado.
