Pforzheim Railway Closure: Summer Renovation Project Affects Local Transportation
In a recent press release, the city of Pforzheim announced a significant closure of a railway section that will impact the local transportation system for approximately two months. The closure is part of a larger project and not a regular maintenance.
The railway line between Pforzheim Central Station and Brötzingen Station will be closed from Monday, July 30, until the end of the summer holidays on September 9. This closure affects the specific railway line and does not include other routes within the city.
The closure is due to the renovation of the railway bridge on Habermehlstraße and track work. As a result, the railway crossing on Habermehlstraße will be under renovation during this period.
During the first two weeks of the summer holidays, the right-turn lane onto the Victoriabridge or onto the Western Karl-Friedrich-Straße from the inbound Kelterstraße will be closed. The pedestrian path under the Victoriabridge in Brötzingen will also be closed for the entire duration of the summer holidays.
The closure may cause disruptions in the local transportation system, and commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
In addition to the railway closure, several bridges in the city will also undergo renovation. The underside of the Ersinger Street Bridge in Brötzingen will be repaired, but there will be no restrictions on traffic on the bridge. The Baumann Bridge in Maihälden will be completely closed to vehicle traffic, but a safe pedestrian path will be set up.
It is important to note that this announcement is archived, and the provided dates and contact details may no longer be current. However, the information about the railway closure and the renovation project remains relevant for those planning their travels within the city during the summer months.
Despite these closures, traffic on the Victoriabridge itself and the underside of the Ersinger Street Bridge in Brötzingen will not be restricted. The city encourages residents and visitors to be patient and understanding during this time as they work to improve the city's infrastructure.
