Rally attendees in Davao are encouraged by Bong Go to persistent prayers and support for the FPRRD, as demonstrated at a recent gathering.

In Davao City and The Hague, Netherlands, thousands of individuals gathered to express their support for former President Rodrigo Duterte, who is currently detained at The Hague over alleged crimes against humanity.

The event in Davao City, dubbed "Limang Buwan, Isang Sigaw. Free Duterte!", featured performances from various artists including Aila Santos, R2K, Wency Cornejo, Lazy Fat, Silent Santuary, and Isla Riddim. Senator Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go, who attended the event, encouraged public prayers for Duterte and emphasized the importance of fighting for his safety and freedom.

Go, in his speech, shared his sentiment that the public is dismayed over Duterte's detainment, especially considering his age of 80. He highlighted Duterte's dedication to the Filipino people during his presidency and expressed his belief that FPRRD would not endure staying long in a foreign country, far from his family and his beloved country.

In The Hague, approximately 10,000 individuals gathered to commemorate the fifth month of Duterte's detainment. The defense team of FPRRD, led by Atty. Nicholas Kaufman, formally requested his interim release from ICC detention on August 18, 2025.

The ICC Pre-Trial Chamber I granted Duterte's request to defer the decision on his appeal for interim release, postponing the ruling until the defense team had sufficient time to assemble the required information. The request for interim release was made in accordance with necessary conditions.

The ICC's decision did not deter the supporters of Duterte, who continue to rally for his release. Go, in his closing remarks, thanked the supporters for their continued support and prayers for Duterte.

The events in both cities ended peacefully, with no untoward incidents reported by the Davao City Police Office and other authorities. The fight for Duterte's freedom continues, as thousands of Filipinos stand united in their call for his release.
