Ralph Lauren's new collection for Oak Bluffs makes its debut
Ralph Lauren Unveils Polo Ralph Lauren for Oak Bluffs Collection
Ralph Lauren has launched a new collection, the Polo Ralph Lauren for Oak Bluffs, as part of its ongoing partnership with Morehouse and Spelman Colleges. This collection, inspired by the historically Black community of Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, blends classic coastal leisurewear with off-campus collegiate style.
The Polo Ralph Lauren for Oak Bluffs collection features a variety of pieces, including a twill jacket with novelty embroidery, nautical-themed ball caps, and various sweaters, shirts, outerwear, fleece, totes, mugs, and a patchwork quilt. Prices for the collection range from $35 for the Oak Bluffs mug to $1,295 for the quilt.
The launch of the collection is accompanied by a campaign, which was created in partnership with Cole Brown. Brown, who spent summers on Martha's Vineyard, used his experiences to inform this project. The campaign features a short documentary blending scenic campaign footage with rare archival imagery. Nadine Ijewere photographed the campaign imagery, and Azariah Bjørvig shot the video footage.
Both Ijewere and Bjørvig previously worked on the 2022 campaign that accompanied the launch of the Morehouse and Spelman Colleges campaign. The line was conceptualized and designed by Morehouse and Spelman alumni at Ralph Lauren.
The Polo Ralph Lauren for Oak Bluffs collection is part of Ralph Lauren's Design with Intent initiative, which celebrates the heritage of American life. The full line is available in select Ralph Lauren retail stores, on the brand's website and app, and at Morehouse College and Spelman College Follett campus bookstores.
In addition to the collection's launch, a special screening of the documentary alongside a panel discussion on "the power of narrative change in racial healing" will take place at the Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival on Aug. 8. A full-length documentary titled "A Portrait of the American Dream: Oak Bluffs" premiered on Thursday.
This collection marks another step in Ralph Lauren's commitment to supporting historically Black colleges and universities and celebrating diverse communities.
