Tampa Bay Rays Secure Sixth Series Win of the Season Against Washington Nationals

The Tampa Bay Rays have added another victory to their record, sweeping the Washington Nationals in a thrilling three-game series. The series, which ended with a score of 7-4, marks the Rays' sixth series sweep of the season.

In the decisive game, Tampa Bay's offence got off to a flying start in the second inning, with Brandon Lowe hitting a grand slam. This was followed by a tripled effort from Josh Lowe in the third inning, which he capitalised on to score. Everson Pereira also contributed to the team's tally, driving in two runs.

On the mound, Ian Seymour started for Tampa Bay, giving up four runs, one earned, with eight strikeouts. Pete Fairbanks sealed the deal in the ninth inning, pitching scoreless to earn his 24th save this season.

Shane Baz, who is scheduled to pitch against Seattle's Luis Castillo on Monday, ended the game with a record of 8-11 and an ERA of 5.19. Castillo, who will be facing the Rays, currently has a record of 8-7 with an ERA of 3.75.

The Rays' success on the road continues, with four series wins away from home this season. The team will now face the Seattle Mariners in a three-game series starting on Monday.

Meanwhile, Washington will welcome the Marlins, with the pitcher set to make his MLB debut on Monday yet to be announced. The Marlins have not announced their starter for the game either.

In a positive note for the Nationals, their Minor League Pitcher of the Year, Andrew Alvarez, is set to make his MLB debut on Monday. Alvarez, who has been impressive in the minor leagues, will be looking to make an impact in the big leagues.

The game was not without its share of errors, with Dylan Crews reaching on a fielding error by third baseman Junior Caminero in the fourth inning, driving in a run for Washington. Riley Adams also walked to lead off the fourth inning for the Nationals. However, these errors were not enough to prevent the Rays from securing a well-deserved victory.
