On August 30, 2025, the disaster protection exercise "Arminius" took place in East Westphalia. Organised by the Circle of Lippe, the regional government of Detmold, and the NRW Ministry of the Interior, the exercise involved rescue forces from Paderborn, Detmold, Lemgo, Bielefeld, and other regions.

The scenario simulated a storm on a festival site with numerous injured, some severely, and fatalities. Over 100 vehicles were available for transporting the severely injured to hospitals in Detmold, Lemgo, Herford, or Gütersloh.

The BHP 50 NRW from Paderborn set up special tents for the care of the injured, while the BHP 500 NRW from Bielefeld took care of the uninjured, who were alone, shocked, and partly traumatized.

160 lay actors were present to portray the injured during the exercise. The participants involved in the continuation rolls of the "BHP 500 NRW" included units from the North Rhine-Westphalia fire brigades and emergency services.

The exercise focused on the prioritization skills required in chaotic situations. The findings from the exercise will be evaluated to improve future deployments. A reporter on site covered the exercise, witnessing the simulated chaos and the coordinated response of the rescue forces.

After around four hours, the fictional festival site was unusually empty, with rescue blankets, cannulas, and plastic packaging still on the ground. The exercise underscored the importance of preparation and quick response in emergency situations.
