In a grand ceremony held at the Maxplatz Town Hall on July 29, 20XX, Mayor Andreas Starke of Bavaria bestowed the honorary title of "Chamber Musician" upon Jan Rosenkranz and Marius Urba, esteemed members of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra.

The prestigious award was presented on behalf of Markus Blume, Bavarian State Minister for Science and the Arts. Mayor Starke took the opportunity to personally thank and congratulate the two musicians for their exceptional contributions to the world of music.

Marius Urba, who joined the Bamberg Symphony as a tutti cellist in 2014 and was later appointed as solo cellist in 2017, has made a significant impact in the music industry. Urba's repertoire extends beyond the orchestral realm, as he focuses on the genre of piano trios and performs extensively with the "Trio Marvin," which won the ARD Music Competition.

Urba's impressive accolades include first prize at the Concours International Musique de Chambre de Lyon, first prize at the Mendelssohn Competition Berlin, and the Grand Prix at the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition in Australia. Prior to joining the Bamberg Symphony, Urba held positions as deputy first solo cellist with the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, first solo cellist at the Staatsoper Hannover, and first solo cellist with the Staatskapelle Weimar.

Jan Rosenkranz, who became a member of the Bamberg Symphony in 2014, has also made a name for himself in the music world. As a guest artist, he has performed with various renowned orchestras. Rosenkranz studied with Prof. Dorin Marc in Nuremberg from 2007 to 2013 and later became a scholarship holder of the orchestra academy of the Bavarian State Orchestra in 2010.

The honorary title of "Chamber Musician" recognises the exceptional artistic achievements of both musicians. The title underscores the importance of musicians in captivating audiences on national and international concert stages, as emphasised by Mayor Starke during the award ceremony.

As the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra continues to flourish, the contributions of musicians like Jan Rosenkranz and Marius Urba are essential in maintaining the orchestra's reputation as one of the finest in Germany.
