Recognizing Industry Pioneers: Celebrating Exceptional Bus and Coach Invention at the Busworld Awards 2025

The highly anticipated Busworld Design Award 2025 is set to be a significant event in the bus and coach industry, taking place during Busworld Europe 2025 from October 4-9 at Brussels Expo, Belgium.

This year's awards will recognise outstanding achievements in two main categories: Bus and Coach. The Grand Award Bus and Grand Award Coach will be presented to one winner in each category for exceptional design and ergonomics quality.

The competition is fierce, with 11 vehicles vying for the top spots. In the Bus category, we have the Yutong U15, 12m Procity EV, Mercedes-Benz eCitaro, and H2.City Gold - 18m Hydrogen, alongside the Otokar e-Kent. The Coach category, on the other hand, will feature various BEVs, hydrogen buses, and long-distance electric coaches, with models such as the Yutong IC12E (Yutong), NEOPLAN Skyliner (MAN Truck & Bus), Scania Irizar i6S Efficient, Setra S 515 HD (Daimler Buses), e-Territo (Otokar), and Yutong T14E (Yutong Bus).

The official test day for the Coach category vehicles will take place at Kortrijk Xpo on September 27, 2025. The vehicles will be put through their paces in quieter surroundings and varied traffic conditions, ensuring realistic, on-road testing.

The Busworld Design Award will be an independent award, judged on the show floor, with every vehicle exhibited at Busworld eligible. The jury consists of around 30 international experts, divided into 12 working groups, each responsible for a specific aspect of vehicle performance or design.

Best of Category Labels will be awarded for vehicles that excel in Ecology, Safety, and Comfort. In addition, the Grand Award winners for the Coach category will be revealed on Friday, October 3, 2025, during the official opening gala of Busworld Europe 2025.

The Busworld Vehicle Awards 2025 in the Bus and Coach categories and promoted with the Grand Awards Bus and Grand Awards Coach include major manufacturers such as Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, Scania, MAN, Alexander Dennis, and Irizar.
