In a concerning turn of events, a series of sexual harassment incidents have been reported across several cities in the region, with the latest incident occurring in Haltern am See.
On Sunday afternoon around 4:30 p.m., a man is being sought by the police for harassing two 9 and 10-year-old girls in Kardinal-von-Gahlen Park. The suspect is described as approximately 40 years old, overweight, with gray hair and a hunched posture. He was wearing gray jogging pants and a gray sweater. The man was alleged to have urinated on a tree and played with his genitals while looking at the children. He then boarded a bus.

This incident in Haltern am See is one of three similar incidents that have occurred recently in the region. The cities affected include Halle (Saale), where a woman was sexually harassed on a tram on February 24, 2025, and Marl and Gladbeck, where incidents involving individuals exposing themselves and engaging in inappropriate behavior were reported.
In Marl, two teenage boys, aged 14 and 16, were sexually harassed by two unknown suspects on a bus on Friday evening. The suspects, described as males in their early to mid-20s, with black hair (one with long curls, the other with short hair), approximately 1.60m to 1.70m tall, were wearing black jogging pants with white stripes. In Gladbeck, a 34-year-old woman encountered a suspected exhibitionist in the Wittringer Wald area near Ringallee on Saturday evening. Despite a search, no suspect could be identified in the Gladbeck incident.
The man who masturbated on the bus in Marl was described as approximately 1.80m tall, overweight (estimated around 100 to 120 kg), with long unkempt dark hair, wearing jogging pants and a black t-shirt. The suspects in the Marl incident masturbated in the back of the bus and then touched the faces of the teenage boys.
