Redesign of the initial radio-controlled watch by Junghans in stylish limited versions unveiled
Junghans, the renowned German watch brand known for its minimalist designs, has unveiled three limited edition models of the Mega Futura watch. The new editions expand on the original asymmetrical case shape, with an exaggerated 'jetty' on the left side, adding a touch of modernity to the classic design.
The original Mega Futura design was created by German-American product designer Hartmut Esslinger, who is also known for his innovations including the first fully plastic television sets for WEGA and the first iterations of the Apple computer.
The Mega Futura watch is powered by a multi-frequency radio-controlled movement, ensuring precise timekeeping. It receives signals from transmitters in Germany, the United States, Japan, and Japan's JJY40 and JJY60. The display focuses only on digital numerals, with the number zero excluded due to its irrelevance in time display information.
In the current limited editions, the light grey and black editions feature a stainless steel case, while the black PVD-coated edition has a black PVD-coated stainless steel case. The displays of the light grey and black editions are in standard black and white, while the black PVD-coated edition features green numerals. All three limited editions are limited to 80 pieces each.
The light grey edition, the black edition, and the black PVD-coated edition with green numerals are the available options for the Mega Futura watch in the current limited editions. The watch can be purchased on junghans.de, the official website of Junghans.
The Mega Futura, a reinterpretation of the Mega 1, was first released by Junghans in 1990, marking the world's first and most precise radio-controlled wristwatch. The current limited editions are the latest offerings from Junghans, continuing the brand's commitment to innovation and precision.
Lutz Völler, the designer behind the new edition of the Junghans Mega Futura watch, has managed to preserve the minimalist aesthetic while adding a contemporary twist. The Mega Futura wristwatch is available in three limited editions, priced at €490.00 each.
For those who appreciate precision and modern design, the limited edition Mega Futura watches offer an excellent choice. With their sleek design and radio-controlled precision, these watches are sure to make a statement.
